Jan Rankin

As a visual storyteller I enjoy creating beautiful pieces with paint. The magnificence of the British Columbia mountains, ocean and the Southern Gulf Islands inspire much of my work. I am blessed to live in a community where the mighty Fraser River and the Pacific Ocean meet. One of my favourite ongoing series pay homage to the Great Delta Bog (now known as Burns Bog) working in acrylic and gold leaf.

As well, my imagination is fascinated by brilliant play of light created by the sun’s solar flares ~ playing and reflecting so briefly in the dark night skies. Remnants of energy that illuminate the darkness. Pure light in works like Gypsy and Enchanted. Hearts and Flowers are those special pieces, often commissioned, using mixed media and repurposed jewelry that give me pleasure to create. Thank you for visiting. I hope you enjoy my work.

I am also the organizer of For the Love of Art in South Delta .
