Scott started painting in watercolour 12 years ago to gain creative freedom from having to please clients in his career as a Director of Animation. The challenge of watercolour and the hit or miss of capturing a scene 'En Plein Air' is what excites him about the medium, it forces a person to be both simultaneously in control and not in control. The careful thought and planning and then the need to react to the water in the moment is challenging and fun. His subject matter covers landscapes, seascapes, boats, beaches, urban architecture, figures (to name a few) and loves to paint in a loose and dynamic manner that fill his paintings with light and energy.
