RON STRAIGHT

Ron is a First Nations artist. His work as a commercial artist reflects his view of the natural world in a unique way. Influenced by his heritage and upbringing, his paintings merge the real and the imagined by the use of digital and illustrative elements.

His branding comes by way of an old movie “Young Frankenstein”. Igor comes running up to Frankenstein after he had visited the doctor shouting that his blood type was abnormal. Ron felt that way growing up not knowing his heritage until he was in his 60’s. He has this on every painting to acknowledge his heritage. His signature is just his last initial with the year it was painted.
