AILSA BROWN

As a painter and ceramic artist, I blend my passion for painting creating both contemporary abstract art and wheel-thrown, decorated ceramic vessels. The natural beauty of the forests and shorelines of the West Coast inspire my work; revealing the strength, fragility, fleeting moments and eternal nature of the world around us, reflecting the internal world within.

My art education began at the Chelsea School of Art in London, England and continued at Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC. Over the years, I've further developed my expertise through attending various workshops. With over 25 years of experience teaching wheel throwing, ceramic surface decoration, and painting classes, I joyfully create my “canvas and clay” artwork from my studio in Tsawwassen, BC.
