Created May 2015. The inspiration for this painting (and others) comes from wanting to create a feeling of the wildness and randomness of flowers in their natural state. I spend a lot of time hiking/walking and taking photographs of the natural world and I am always amazed at the tenacity and survivorship of beautiful plants to push up and grow in all types of environments. I noticed this little flowering plant hidden among long, thick and dense wild grasses at Deas Island Park in Ladner BC. Acrylic & mixed media on 24" x 18" high profile canvas.
